SYNOPSIS

The Humber Hawks Men’s Basketball team is on the way to winning the CCAA National championship at home in 19 years just as COVID-19 corrupts their dreams.

In the 2019/2020 season, players, coaches, and the community are getting ready for the CCAA National men’s basketball championship hosted by the Humber Hawks on March 16-21, 2020. In the middle of their season, COVID-19 took effect and the National Championships were cancelled. At the beginning of the season, the Humber Hawks struggled to win, losing their first four games. This questioned if they were on the road to winning this year’s national championship. Later on, the team got their act together and started to win again just like the team originally planned to. Only losing two more games out of the twenty they played, they knew they had a good chance to go far in the championship. Days before the championship, the men’s basketball team, staff, and supporters were ready for hosting the nationals once again in nineteen years. But six days before the big game, Humber Hawks social media announced that the CCAA National men’s basketball championship was cancelled.
